Connected Vehicle - Ford Connect Troubleshooting

  1. Start vehicle with ignition on and take out of transport mode (most vehicles are not out of transport mode, so these steps may not be necessary)
    • Transport Mode Deactivation
    • Turn key to 'on' position
    • Wait for chimes to stop
    • Depress brake pedal 5 times
    • Turn four-way flashers on 5 times
    • Horn will honk when out of transport mode
  2. Verify Connected Car Settings (CCS) are enabled, and the vehicle is in a location with adequate data coverage
    • A quick step by step is:
    • Ignition On your Vehicle
    • Press Settings Button on Touch Screen
    • Press Ford Pass Connect
    • Press Connectivity Settings, this will bring up the connectivity settings menu
    • Look for Vehicle Connectivity, Location, and Vehicle. Data Remote Control and make sure all sliders are to the right. Make adjustments, if needed.

      2019/2020 (Non-Touch Screen)

      If this doesn’t seem to look correct, go to Settings > Connectivity Features > Then make sure to enable Vehicle Connectivity and Send Vehicle Data. A message may pop up on the radio display that you need to agree to.

  3. Turn off vehicle and Ignition on and let run for approximately 5 minutes.  The vehicle may be driven during this time.

    After successful enrollment with Data Services, below are some examples of how the screen will display, showing “Fleet Telematics”.  This setting is no longer available to disable until unenrolled from Data Services.

    SYNC 3

    To change the Connectivity Settings with SYNC 3:

    • Turn on your vehicle.
    • Tap "Settings" on your vehicle's SYNC 3 touch screen.
    • Select "FordPass®** Connect".
    • Tap "Connectivity Settings".
    • Ensure all Connectivity Settings are enabled to access all FordPass®** features.
      • To disable, slide the buttons to "Off".

    SYNC 4

    To change the Connectivity Settings with SYNC 4:

    • Press "Settings" on your vehicle's SYNC 4 touch screen.
    • Press "Connectivity".
    • Choose "Connectivity Vehicle Features".
    • Toggle "Vehicle Connectivity" to your preference (ON or OFF
      • We recommend keeping "Vehicle Connectivity" toggled to ON for the best update experience.

    • Press the "vehicle image" on your vehicle's SYNC 4A touch screen.
    • Press "Settings".
    • Select "Connectivity".
    • Choose "Connected Vehicle Features".
    • Toggle "Vehicle Connectivity" to your preference (ON or OFF).
      • We recommend keeping "Vehicle Connectivity" toggled to ON for the best update experience.
