How to Manually Upgrade Your Camera's Firmware

How to Manually Upgrade Your Camera's Firmware

This guide will go over how to manually update your camera. This is useful if your camera is having trouble connecting to the platform and is on outdated firmware.

Inserting the Upgrade SD Card:

  1. Using the special screwdriver provided to you in the box when you first purchased the dash cam, remove the safety screws that lock the protective cover over the SIM and SD Card slots.

    Note
A magnet under the cover is used for detection. When the protective cover is opened, a tamper event is triggered.

  2. Remove the current SD card and insert the upgrade SD card. It is spring-loaded, so you need to push down to make it pop up.

  3. The camera should automatically start updating after the SD card is inserted, just wait a few seconds and you should see a pop-up that says 'Factory Resetting'.

  4. After it goes through it's loop, you can confirm the upgrade took place by going to the Settings of the camera, and scrolling down until you see Firmware Version. If it is now on the updated Firmware, then the update worked!

    Note
If the firmware is a year or 2 old, you may receive 2 SD cards. If that's the case, you need to follow this process twice. Always use the SD card marked with your current firmware first, and then insert the new one when it's finished.
