How to Activate/Deactivate Your VEDR Units for FedEx Compliance

This guide will show you how to Activate and Deactivate your VEDR units as well as check usage stats for date ranges.


Activating Your VEDR Unit:

  1. Log in to our platform at https://fedex.hdfleet.net

  2. Click on the Status tab.



  3. You can see if the VEDR unit is active by checking under the Last Status column.

    If there is not a green button that says Activate, then the camera is already activated.

    We bill if the SIM card is active or if a trip has taken place on a particular day in that month. The FedEx contract would bill at a maximum of $26/month or $2/day with a $5/month minimum.

    If there was no active SIM or no trips then it is free for that particular month, and the $5 minimum is waived.

    There is an annual charge of $25, regardless if the dash cam is used or not.

  4. Click on the Activate button to activate the VEDR unit.



    A confirmation box will appear. Select Yes to activate the dash cam. A 'Success' message will pop up once completed.

  5. The system is now fully functional, and you will see the last activity of the vehicle, if used prior, and see the vehicle pop up on the Maps tab.



Deactivating Your Dash Cam:

  1. Log in to our platform at https://fedex.hdfleet.net.

  2. Click on the Settings tab, and choose Vehicles from the dropdown menu.


    This tab displays a list of all the active and inactive vehicles under your account. The vehicles that have a green Activate button are not currently active.



  3. Click on the Edit icon to access the details of the vehicle you want to deactivate.



  4. At the top left of the pop-up, there will be a red Deactivate button. Click on it and it will deactivate the vehicle until you activate it again.



    A confirmation box will appear. Select Yes to deactivate the dash cam. A 'Success' message will pop up once completed.

Usage Reports:

This report allows you to view the days that the vehicle was active and inactive.
  1. Click on the Reports tab, and choose Usage for Month - By Sim Status.



    You can select your date range and see which days the vehicle was active. It will say either Active or Inactive under Sim Status.
