How to Mount the AI-12 Dash Cam Onto Your Windshield

Important
Before you start, ensure that the vehicle is parked on a level surface and that the windshield is clean and dry. You can use the alcohol wipes provided to clean the windshield.

Important
The dash cam must be installed at least 1.6 meters (63 inches) above the ground for road-facing ADAS.

To Mount the AI-12 Dash Cam on a Vehicle's Windshield:

  1. Attach the mounting bracket onto the dash cam.



    Once attached, the mounting bracket will lock the dash cam into position.

  2. When you are in park with the parking brake on, the ignition on, and the doors closed, press the touchscreen to view the PIN screen.

    Note
    When a dash cam is in storage, the battery gets drained. Before using the dash cam, you may need to charge it prior to turning it on.

  3. Enter the default PIN of 3333 to unlock the dash cam, or use your own PIN if you have already set it up.


  4. Press Live View.


    You can use the arrow keys to toggle between road-facing and in-cab views.

  5. Use the dash cam views to position it correctly. (When positioning the dash cam, place it as high as possible on the driver's side of the vehicle).

    Some jurisdictions have regulations that prohibit or restrict where objects can be placed on the windshield.

    6. Ensure that:

    • There is a clear view of the driver's upper body

      When using MV+AI, the driver's upper body must be in view of the in-cab lens.

    • There is a clear view of the road

    • The dash cam doesn't obstruct the driver's field of vision

    • The dash cam is in the vehicle's wiper path so the road-facing lens is not obstructed by rain or snow

    • Nothing in the cab blocks the in-cab lens, such as sun visors, blinds, or mirrors

  6. Remove the cover on the adhesive tape and mount the dash cam onto the windshield.

    Peel the plastic off over the lenses of the camera.
