How to Create a Driver ID QR Code and Use It

These steps will demonstrate how to create a QR code to assign a driver to their respective vehicle within the platform. They will be using the in-cab lens on the dash cam to sign in.

Creating a QR Code:

  1. To create a QR code for a driver, first login to the HD Fleet platform at https://hdfleet.net.  Then, select Settings from the Main Menu and choose Drivers from the dropdown.

  2. From the Drivers screen, click the Edit button underneath the Action column for the driver you want to create the QR code for.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Edit Driver pop-up to view the driver's QR code. You can click the Red Envelope icon to email the QR code image file directly to the driver's email address, or you can click the Printer Icon to save it as a PDF file to your desktop.

Scanning Your QR Code (Surfsight):

  1. Make sure your vehicle is in park with the parking brake on, ignition on, and doors closed. Press the touchscreen of the dash cam to view the PIN screen.

  2. Enter the default PIN of 3333, or use your own PIN if you have already set it up.

  3. Click on the QR code button at the top-left of the dash cam. You will have 10 seconds to scan the QR code.

A success message is displayed on the dash cam screen after the code is scanned.

Scanning Your QR Code (RoadEazy):

  1. Scan the code at any time with the driver facing camera.

  2. The camera will ding when the code is successfully scanned in.
