How to Back Up the SD Card

Back up and save the information on an SD card to prevent loss of data. This process is especially important if the data may be overwritten or when planning to reformat the SD card. 

Backing Up the SD Card:

  1. Turn off the dash cam.

    • After you have parked the vehicle with the parking brake on, the ignition on, and the door closed, press the touchscreen of the dash cam to view the PIN screen.

    • Enter the default PIN of 3333 to unlock the dash cam for the first time, or use your own PIN if you've already set it up.



    • The screen unlocks and the menu appears.

    • Press Settings.



    • Scroll down and press Power Off.



    • A confirmation window will pop up.

    • Follow to instructions on the screen to first disconnect the power cable, and then press OK on the screen to shut down the dash cam.

      Important:
      Complete this step to prevent the dash cam from restarting. If it does restart, repeat this step to avoid battery drain.

  2. Use the provided screwdriver that was in the box when you purchased your dash cam to remove the safety screws that lock the cover over the SIM and SD slots.

    Note:
    A magnet under the cover is used for detection. When the protective cover is opened, a tamper event is triggered.

  3. Remove the SD card by gently pressing on it and releasing it. It should pop out.



  4. Connect the SD card to your computer or another storage device. It should be detected automatically.

  5. Copy the files onto the computer or storage device.

  6. Remove the SD card.

  7. Insert the SD card back into the dash cam.

  8. Screw the cover on the cam back into place.

  9. Reconnect the power cable to power on the dash cam and make sure the red recording light  is on at the bottom of the screen to verify the SD card is working.
